This book is a continuation of the popular book, A Funky Primer, but is a little more advanced. It contains jazz, Latin-funk and odd-time rock patterns including 12/8, 5/4, 7/4, 9/4, 11/4, 13/4 and 15/4.
Despite what Mike says (that you don't need to stop eating what you like, and you don't need to starve), well you do. In doing so, McGinn creates a new and entertaining genus of philosophical writing. All the notation is collected form other "Recorded Version Guitar" books, which means that you get notes anf tabs, but not chord boxes.
So all in all a great boo. I'm following his blog and I hope to be able to follow "Beyond BLS" soon. I saw this new book and thought maybe I could tailor the Abs Diet for me, as a woman. It is what it is if you can take it as such. The author has done a courageous job of describing both her alcohol-drenched "before" and the joyous "after" she is now living. Had the burglary of the Watergate Hotel happened just a few years earlier, we would’ve been able to attach one of those nauseating “gate” suffix’s to Don Shula’s 1970 involvement in tampering between the team he had coached (Baltimore) and the team he would coac
