The more poetry one reads, the more the astounding presence of life reveals itself. Again, as many medical practitioners in Europe are also trained in natural healing, or are at least accepting of it and able to work together with the natural healer for an overall health plan, I think this notion poorly serves American readers. Most newspaper accounts would mention it. Get them both. I bought it and read it the first day.
As I look back now after reading her book, I wish I would have known more about alcoholism and the behaviors that can result. For example, the author goes from the homerun chase in 1938 to a quick summary of the 1940 season, skipping the year 1939 altogether. It has a very open stance on who your sexual partner maybe and thus refers to men and women partners throughout. With a lyrical prose that is at times hauntingly poetic, if mildly "Deleuze-ional," Puar remains consistently astute in her political and cultural commentaries. I am sure we missed something
