Kanoko Sakurakoji was born in downtown Tokyo, and her hobbies include reading, watching plays, traveling and shopping. Her debut title, Raibu ga Hanetara, ran in Bessatsu Shojo Comic (currently called Betsucomi) in 2000, and her 2004 Betsucomi title Backstage Prince was serialized in VIZ Media's Shojo Beat magazine. She won the 54th Shogakukan Manga Award for Black Bird.
As a pastor, I have a responsibility to make sure that the message I am proclaiming is a responsible, well-informed, theologically grounded interpretation of the biblical passage at hand that says something to us about who God is and what that means for how we are called to go about living our lives. As another reviewer has already stated, Herrod's account may be self serving.
What did happen at Son Thang. All things considered, I think it would be safe to say past and present Vons employees will find this book more interesting than someone looking for information on the history of Vons or Southern California supermarkets in general.
While it is true that the people are the most important part of any organization, I would encourage the authors to revisit this subject and focus more on the 'nuts and bolts' of the business. Very few people in the West have heard of Mencius. I give it 5 stars and hope other people like it too.
